Call for Industry Papers

The Industrial & Practitioner Track of the 23rd International Conference on Database Systems for Advanced Applications (DASFAA 2018) seeks submissions covering innovative industry database systems and applications, novel implementation of data management technologies, and experience in applying recent advances in Big Data to real-world problems. The goal of this track is to discuss emerging trends and challenges with practical implications, and to facilitate interactions between academia and industry in this vital area with growing interests.

Contributions from both industry R&D groups and the academia are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced Analytics of Database Systems

  • Application Areas in Data Management (e.g. Finance, Government, Retail, Telecommunications, Health and Life Sciences)

  • Big Data

  • Mining Industrial/Business Data

  • Cloud Computing

  • Context-Aware Computing

  • Mobile Data Management

  • Graphs and Social Networks

  • Web Data Management

  • Exploitation of New Hardware Trends


Authors should submit papers reporting original work that are currently not under review or published elsewhere. We will accept full papers (up to 12 pages) and extended abstracts (up to 4 pages) in LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format. Industrial track submissions must be submitted electronically, in pdf format, using the same Conference Management Tool as the research track. Please mention "Industrial Track" next to the paper title during submission in EasyChair. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
