Peter Bernus Short Biography

 

Dr Bernus has worked internationally on various aspects of enterprise integration as researcher, consultant and project leader for Industry, Government and Defence (ADF).

His special interests include the theoretical foundations of inter- and intra-organisational management, global enterprise networks, dynamic virtual enterprises, and the translation of these into strategies, architectures and principles for the management of complexity and evolution of large enterprise networks, complete industries, or innovation ecosystems.

Dr Bernus has published a large number of refereed papers and book chapters, several edited books, and serves as programme committee member for numerous conferences in the area organised by IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) and IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing). He was also IPC chair for the International Conference on Enterprise Integration and Modelling Technology (ICEIMT'04), the IFIP Working Conference on Modelling and Methodologies for Enterprise Integration (EI95), and the IFIP Working Conference on Enterprise Architecture, Integration, Interoperability and Networking (2008).

Previously Dr Bernus was the Australian leader of the Enterprise Engineering work package of the Globemen International consortium, working with over 20 companies, that include ERP vendors, shipbuilding and engineering companies, among others, as well as consulted the Australian Defence Force Joint Logistics Systems on Logistics Enterprise Architecture.

A/Professor Peter Bernus is the past chair of the IFIP-IFAC Task Force for Architectures for Enterprise Integration a peer selected body of over 50 academics and industry professionals that developed GERAM, the Generalised Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology (ISO 15704:2000; 2006) and foundation chair of Working Group 5.12 on Architectures for Enterprise Integration in the International Federation of Information Processing, and also works in ISO (ISO0IEC/JTC1/SC7WG42 and TC184/SC5/WG1) contributing to the development of Enterprise-, Systems-, and Software architecture standards.

Together with Professors G√ľnter Schmidt, Jacek Blazevicz and Michael Schaw, Peter Bernus is series editor for the International Handbooks on Information Systems for Springer Verlag. Dr Bernus is member of the editorial boards of several international journals.
