Peter Bernus Short Biography
Since 1976 Dr Bernus worked internationally on various aspects of enterprise integration as researcher, consultant and project leader for Industry, Government and Defence (ADF). Together with Professors Günter Schmidt, Jacek Blazevicz and Michael Schaw, Peter Bernus is series editor for the International Handbooks on Information Systems for Springer Verlag. Dr Bernus is member of the editorial boards of several international journals.
His special interests include inter- and intra-organisational management, global enterprise networks, and dynamic project enterprises, as well as innovation networks & ecosystems. Dr Bernus has published over 120 refereed papers and book chapters, several edited books, and serves as programme committee member for numerous conferences in the area, including IPC chair for the International Conference on Enterprise Integration and Modelling Technology (ICEIMT'04) and the IFIP Working Conference on Modelling and Methodologies for Enterprise Integration (EI95), IFIP Working Conf on Enterprise Architecture, Integration, Interoperability and Networking (2008).
In 2000-2003 Dr Bernus was the Australian leader of the Enterprise Engineering work package of the Globemen International consortium, working with over 20 companies, that include ERP vendors, shipbuilding and engineering companies, among others, as well as consulted the Australian Defence Force Joint Logistics Systems on Logistics Enterprise Architecture.
A/Professor Peter Bernus is the past chair of the IFIP-IFAC Task Force for Architectures for Enterprise Integration a peer selected body of over 50 academics and industry professionals that developed GERAM, the Generalised Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology (ISO 15704:2000; 2006) and foundation chair of Working Group 5.12 on Enterprise Integration of the International Federation of Information Processing, currently working on the harmonisation of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, systems engineering and software engineering standards.
