WARNING: Google operators are case-sensitive but your search terms are not!
That is the part befor the ':' must be lowercase, AND and OR uppercase
The order of terms do not matter!

To subscribe to a google mail group, without a google account

GMail

'+' in username
  anything following is ignored for delivery
  However you can filter mail basied on those strings.

  For example give..     username+bank@gmail.com  to you bank
  and filter mail to "+bank" as being important

'.' in usernames
  These are ignored, just as case is ignored.
  As such these are all equivelent:   I.Surname  ISurname Isur.Name

  Again you can filter on these.
